Since May 2025 I’ve spent my spare time and some nightshifts on working on an OpenSource Operating System for the Behringer X32. 12 Months later, a community is growing around this software and a lot of things are already working quite well.

In this video I’d like to show you the result of one year reverse-engineering, developing and testing this digital audio eco-system. With some demonstrations I like to prove, that the general signal-processing is already working and some more advanced effects are on a good way to a beta-status.

Next to the current status of the project I demonstrate some effects like an overdrive, a delay or a neural network-based DeFeedback-plugin that helped me to understand how the AlphaSounds DeFeedback is working.

I’m looking forward for your comments and good ideas. Sure, with the Behringer WING and other audio-mixing-consoles there are more modern alternatives available today, but there are still new applications for the X32/M32-series even 14-years after its start.

That’s fantastic! It’s really impressive how much progress you’ve made in a year with an open-source project like this.
