Short biography

Christian Nöding studied electrical engineering at the University of Kassel from 2003 to 2009, graduating with a degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc.).
He then began working at the Competence Center for Decentralized Electrical Energy Supply Technology in Kassel. He completed his doctorate in 2016 with a Dr.-Ing. degree, also at the University of Kassel.
His main interests lie in the design and control of power converters for decentralized energy supply, as well as other power electronic devices.

Publications

As part of my electrical engineering studies, I obtained a total of three degrees:

PhD Thesis

PhD with the title “Higher-power PV power converters for 1,500 V system voltage: evaluation, comparison, and implementation” published in 2016

Download the publication as PDF (19 MB)

Masterthesis

Masterthesis with the title “Investigation of a 3-phase inverter with only two high-frequency transistors”

Download the publication as PDF (8MB)

Bachelorthesis

Bachelorthesis with the title “Analysis, design, and commissioning of a 3-phase Z-source inverter”

Download the publication as PDF (10MB)

And I’m pretty proud of several awards:

In 2017 I received the Science Award from the Kassel Chamber of Industry and Commerce for “outstanding diploma and exam theses that are of interest to the business community in terms of the problems they address.”

In 2016 together with some collegues we received the Young Engineer Award of the PCIM2016 as Co-Author of the publication with the title “Benefits of Increased Cosmic Radiation Robustness of SiC Semiconductors in large Power-Converters”

In 2011 I received the Sponsorship Award of the IHK Kassel for “above-average and outstanding results in a thesis”

Press release of the University of Kassel

In 2010 I received the Best Paper Award at PCIM2010 (Power Conversion Intelligent Motion – International Trade Fair and Conference for Power Electronics in Nuremberg)
